FIBEROPTIC F01, F02 & F04

The Fischer FiberOptic Series with one (FO1), two (FO2) or four (FO4) optical channels features some major novelties. Complete fiber optic cable assemblies can also be provided for maximum performance and time saving, either directly from our factory or from one of our in-country Value Added Reseller partners.

FIBEROPTIC HYBRID

The Fischer FiberOptic Series hybrid connector with two optical channels and two electrical contacts is perfectly suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor applications, where space saving is essential.

The FO1 connector integrates fully into the existing Fischer FiberOptic Series, well-known for its robust and faultless optical performances in any conditions, combined with easy use, cleaning and maintenance even in the field.

UPC & APC polishing reduces insertion and return losses, making devices more secure, while IP68 sealing provides highly valuable device protection. The push-pull locking system allows quick and easy connections and disconnections, making these connectors ideally suited for outdoor environments. The removable sleeve holder (monobloc mate adapter) ensures that end faces can be cleaned easily, keeping electronics in top condition

 

The FO1 connector can be pre-configured with Fischer FiberOptic Series reels of any required length, a convenient and flexible turnkey solution. To enable customers to choose the right connectivity solution for their specific needs, Fischer Connectors also provides a user-friendly request form that guarantees the mistake-proof configuration of cable assemblies.

Reduced InsertIon and return losses

The Fischer FiberOptic Series is well-known for its robust and faultless optical performances in any conditions. UPC & APC polishing reduces insertion and return losses, making devices more secure, while IP68 sealing provides highly valuable device protection.

The push-pull locking system allows quick and easy connections and disconnections, making these connectors ideally suited for outdoor environments. The removable sleeve holder (monoblock mate adapter) ensures that end faces can be cleaned easily, keeping electronics in top condition.


Robustness

Fischer FiberOptic Series operates effectively at cryogenic temperatures, with a minimal effect on insertion and return losses, and on optical and sealing performance. It provides an excellent baseline measurement for further testing and a good starting point for investigating fiber optic interconnect solutions for other cryogenic applications.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) pipelines, where temperatures can drop to approximately -180°C, are another example of an application that depends on robustness to ensure reliable, long-term performance. As demonstrated in the CERN tests, optical fiber can be used to monitor temperatures along the pipeline even in extreme cold.

The test results confirm the ruggedness of our connectivity solution, which can deliver precision optical performance in cryogenic and other extreme applications.
